The Phantom of the Opera
Accompanied by organist Garrett F. Martin

You are cordially invited to an evening of cinema and live music as we present a screening of The Phantom of the Opera (1925), the silent film starring Lon Chaney with a live organ performance by Garrett F. Marin, the Organist and Director of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Buffalo, New York.

Free and open to the public. Donations welcome at the door.

Garrett F. Martin holds a Master of Music Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Sacred Music and Organ Performance, a Performer's Certificate in Organ and Accompanying from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, as well as a Church Music and Organ Performance Degree from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. His major teachers include Gerre and Judith Hancock, Peter Fyfe and Carl Smith, and J. Ryan Garber.

 The American Organist wrote “…impressively played…masterfully improvised…” Since 2013, Martin has served as the Organist and Director of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Buffalo, New York, where he directs and oversees the church’s choirs, plans worship and liturgy, sees to the maintenance of the two Aeolian-Skinner organs and 5 Steinway grand pianos, coordinates Westminster Presents and visiting artists, and conducts and plays all weekly worship and special services. For five years, he served as the Artistic Director of the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus and since 2016, as an artist for the Rodgers Organ Company of Hillsboro, Oregon, with more than 40 video recordings available online. Martin served as the Dean of the American Guild of Organists, Buffalo Chapter and is on the music faculty of Buffalo Seminary.

 A native of Tennessee, Martin has previously served churches in Tennessee, Florida, and Texas.
